Pasayaw Festival

The Pasayaw Festival is a traditional festivity which combines history, religious traditions and sociocultural materials. It evolves around the mythical story of two ill-starred lovers -- Kan and Laon. It also celebrates the bountiful harvest of vegetables exported all over Negros. As a thanksgiving every March 19th, Pasayaw Festival is dedicated to the patron saint of the city, Saint Joseph the Worker.

Tayada

Tayada sa Parke “Cultural Show”, an extravaganza that serves as a vivid tapestry showcasing our local talents, prime culture, and rich heritage. As a response to the impact brought about by the pandemic to our cultural activities has affected the promotion of our rich culture and tourism, the Division Cultural Coordinators with the support of the City Government of Canlaon City and The City Tourism Council developed “The Tayada sa Parke 2023. This activity aims to promote our cultural diversity and the appreciation of the Filipino culture and tradition through dance and arts.

Tourism Week

The Tourism Week Celebration is designed to foster awareness and appreciation for the tourism sector's vital role in the local economy and community. By dedicating an entire week to tourism-related activities and events, the public can gain a broader understanding of the boundless possibilities for fun and adventure that Canlaon City has to offer. By uniting various stakeholders such as the Department of Agriculture, Department of Education, Youth Organization, Religious Sector, Barangay Officials, and the Farm Family Congress, the event ensures a comprehensive and collaborative approach to promoting tourism.
